My 3 recommendations

The Oscars are coming and usually before the season begins, I would try as much as I could to
watch all the movies that are nominated for the Golden statuette.

Following are the 3 movies that are up for the Oscar in various categories. 2 of them, The Help and The Descendants are up for BEST PICTURE. These 3 movies differ drastically from one another, however there's ONE thing that they all have in common, they are stories about COURAGE. A courage to survive being different and to stand your ground on your beliefs, to stand the pain to prove whats right and not to follow whats wrong just to fit in and to save one's own ass.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a mind blowing bizarre twist about a dark but astute mind of a rather eccentric girl who went through a whole lot of shit helping an investigator solve a problem.

Rooney Mara stole the show with her brilliance as the twisted girl with the golden IQ. How her versatility played perfectly into the character where she had to make love to both sexes. To stay in that dark and tedious character and yet exudes vulnerability was definitely an Oscar deserving prowess.

The only thing that is so violent that is so unbearable to watch is the scene with the handcuffs. I had to look away.. serious guys, this is horrible.

The Help is about a white girl's story of the struggles of black maids who live their lives working as servants and raising white children. Highly discriminated against and fully looked down to, nobody would voiced out to defend these women until a white
girl courageously stepped up and stood by these women and told the story through writing a book that was a success but less appreciated and received by the community.

Being raised herself by a black maid, she determines to go all out to help these women. Her work was recognized and she was offered a job as a writer in New York. Get your box of tissues ready guys as this will definitely break your heart.

How far would you go to swallow your pride and forgive someone you love for something gravely wrong that was committed? What if the person is dying under your care?

The Descendants is a heart-wrenching story about an unwary man's struggle to forgive his dying wife, whose predicament was a result of her betrayal towards him.

This movie had me used up the whole box of tissues people. So, be ready for that. And the heart break begins from the first 5 minutes till the last 5 minutes of the movie..
